The Huntersville Chamber is proud to showcase another partnership among our members. Finding ways for businesses, non-profits and citizens to work together makes our entity strong and successful. The continued efforts by Mathnasium to get involved in the community combined with the dedication of Caterpillar Ministries to help the underserved populations is a prime example of a match made in heaven.
Recently, Dan Burdi and Amanda Sain (left) of Mathnasium of Huntersville met with Anne Crawford (right), Founder and Ministry Director at Caterpillar Ministries, to talk about opportunities to help the community. It didn’t take long for a partnership to develop, utilizing Mathnasium to be a supportive resource for the students and staff at Caterpillar Ministries. and learning of her own programs, we knew that our learning center would be a great additional resource for the students Ms. Crawford and her staff already works hard serve. In June, through the help of Cherri Johnson, Director of Children’s Programs at Caterpillar Ministries, Mathnasium of Huntersville offered Caterpillar Ministries a perpetual scholarship for their math learning program for a select dedicated student of their community.
“We are delighted to have the opportunity to a resource for parents, students and the Huntersville community when it comes to learning math. It makes us so happy to have the opportunity to work with Caterpillar Ministries to showcase our ability to help students catch up, keep up or get ahead in their math education” says Amanda Sain, Center Director at Mathnasium of Huntersville. “At Mathnasium we say that we teach math in a way that makes sense to kids and are delighted to have the opportunity to support kids through Caterpillar Ministries. We look forward to meeting and supporting more students over the years through this relationship.”

About Caterpillar Ministries
Caterpillar Ministries was launched in 2007 by Anne Crawford. Anne began this ministry by walking door-to-door in the multi-ethnic Huntington Green Mobile Home Park. Many families wouldn’t even come to the door, fearing that she was an agent of Child Protective Services. Eventually, however, God paved the way for relationships to be formed and she began meeting with a handful of children in the front yard of one of the residents. In 2015, we expanded our programs to serve middle and high school students. In 2017, we stepped out in faith to more officially serve the adult population of the community, as well.
The ministry has now grown to serve approximately 225 children and adults. We are proud to have our own space and two 12-passenger vans to help us transport our neighbors to and from our weekly programs. Our staff members and volunteer team model Jesus’ love by providing educational, spiritual and mentoring programs for the neighbors. The services provided are made possible through donations from churches, individuals and corporate partners. For more information, visit www.caterpillarministries.org.
